Hat Yai - Airport
There are no direct minibuses from the airport to Pak Barra Pier. The cheapest way is to take a minibus from the Airport to the Train station in Hat Yai (80 THB per person), and catch a minibus at one of the travel shops nearby.
The more expensive option is to take a private taxi from the airport to Pak Barra Pier for around 2500 THB per car.
Hat Yai - City Centre
There are several travel shops near the Train station that offer a minibus service to Pak Barra pier for around 150 THB per person (travel time is 2 hours). Cathay Guesthouse and KST Travel shop have had very good customer reviews for many years, both are located on Thanon Niphat Uthit 2, just 3 blocks down from the train station, opposite the King's Hotel.
Private taxi's to Pak Barra can also be organised and take about 1.5 hours.
Pak Barra
Pak Barra Pier can seem like an overwhelming and hectic place when you arrive but don't panic, people just want to sell you a ferry ticket. If you know what ferry you want just tell them and people will point you towards the right person.
Because there are many ferries on this route it makes more sense to buy your return ticket on Koh Lipe and allow yourself flexibility on your way back.
There are many stalls with street food, small restaurants and little shops in Pak Barra, so it's easy to kill an hour and refuel for the onward journey.
